    As many of you know, my mother Ellen Gilger was placed in the care of the Powder River Manor in June of 2021 for end of life care. There were problems! I filed a complaint to DPHHS, and my allegations were validated. The inspection survey is a public document that can be viewed by all on the DPPHS website.     This legislative session the main school funding bill is House Bill 15 (HB 15). Currently, HB 15 passed a second reading in the House and is providing an inflationary increase of 2.7% for fiscal year 24 and a 3.0% increase for fiscal year 25. Since the State of Montana is sitting on a surplus of one-time money there are rumors of a bill coming that may seek additional money for schools. Grants and other one-time revenue are nice.     A pair of Hawks wrestlers marched in the 2023 All Class State Wrestling Tournament "parade of athletes", as teams from across the Big Sky State entered MetraPark in Billings last Friday.     The Broadus Boys basketball sealed up their 4C conference championship with wins against Wibaux and Ekalaka over the weekend, making 2023 the 11th time Broadus has won their conference in the team's history, and only the fifth time to do so with an undefeated conference record.
