Three trustee positions will be elected on the Broadus School Board for three year terms, in a mail ballot to be sent out in April. Two of the positions will be for District 79-J, while a third position is open in the South Stacey District. Anyone interested in running must be registered voters within the respective districts in which they wish to run. Lucas Capp, Broadus 8th Grader, qualified for the state Mathcounts competition due to an individual participant from a different school entering the state competition as a member of a team, instead of participating individually. This meant that Lucas was bumped up into the individual qualifier position. The Broadus School Board trustees met for their monthly meeting Monday, with all trustees in attendance and a full docket of agenda items scheduled for the evening. Attending the regional meet were 54 competitors from Custer, Baker, Hardin, Colstrip, Forsyth, and Plevna. The revenue responsible for our tax decrease was allocated from the 95 mills that is assessed to all state taxpayers. Many counties saw their taxable evaluations increase dramatically this year, and are choosing not to assess all of the 95 mills.
