In cow-calf ranch country, it was especially gratifying to see fifteen breeding beef entries at the Fair, nine of which were cow-calf pairs, commented Extension Agent Mary Rumph.

"T.J. and Heather Cunningham are a large part of the reason that happened through their leadership and organization of the heifer donor program," explained Rumph. "T.J.'s personal connection with donors and his recognition of their contribution has been vital to the program," she added.

Six 4-H exhibitors completed their projects by showing cow-calf pairs at the Fair, receiving ownership from the donor. The member and donors included: Karena Appleman and donor Mangen Angus; Clark Appleman and donors Dawn and Lester Aye; Garrett Cunningham and donors Ben and Brenda Minow; Colton Biesheuvel and donors Charlie and Shirley Russell; Callie Williams and donors Curt and Bonnie Randall; and Kori Kolka and donors Tracy and Becky Anderson.

Two 4-H members completed the first year of their project by exhibiting yearling heifers. These included Oliveah Schaffer who received a heifer donated by Dean and Jill Kolka; and Kyle Minow, who received a heifer from Ted and Cathy Elgin.
