Quarter Horse Breeders Sale draws folks from across the continent

A large crowd was on hand for the 41st Annual PRQHBA Horse Sale, held Sunday. In the picture, Dan Davis leads a colt through the ring while the auctioneers take the crowd's bids.

Buyers and sellers from near and far converged on Broadus last weekend for the 41st Annual Powder River Quarter Horse Breeders Horse Sale, with folks from Canada and across the Midwest US attending the event.

According to event organizer Dan Davis, seventeen saddle horses, nine yearlings, and fifty weanlings sold at the sale, with the top five saddle horses averaging $8990. The top three yearlings averaged $2534, and the top ten weanlings averaged $1610.

During the AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse Show, which was held Saturday, Davis noted that attendance was great. "Folks were tickled with the show and sale." Full sale info is planned for publication next week.
