During the week of January 14th-19th I had the privilege of serving as a page for Senator Kenneth Bogner. I was able to meet many senators, go behind the scenes, and serve the senators during my time there.

The tasks I was assigned included filling and cleaning coffee pots, taking and delivering messages and mail, and recycling.

Our group met with the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and The Montana Supreme Court. During the end of the week, I had the opportunity to testify on Senate Bill 40 in the education committee. Also, during my time, I toured the museum, went to the top of the capitol dome, and toured downtown Helena. This experience was a great opportunity for me and I was able to learn about our Montana government.

Editor's Note: According to the Legislative Page Website, the Montana Legislative Page program allows high school juniors and seniors to participate in the legislative process, while performing specific important roles. Pages serve for one week, and are paid. Applicants must be recommended by a Representative or Senator. Hannah is currently a Senior at PRCDHS.
