February 22, 2019

Lori "Streamie" Mellville, age 85 passed away Feb 12, 2019 in her home surrounded by the love of her family and her animal companions: Coco, Pita, Dodgie, Red, Maddie and Oscar (in spirit).

Lori was born January 11, 1934 in Sonnette, Montana. The 5th daughter of Harry Thomas and Gertrude M (Dolan) Mitchell. She was raised on a ranch which she often spoke of fondly. She graduated from Powder River High School in Broadus, Montana and then moved to Rapid City, South Dakota where she acquired a degree in Bookkeeping.

She married Spud Mellville and moved to Miles City, MT, then Great Falls where she had her 3 children, Tammi, Sheri and Gary (twins) and gradually ended up in Butte where she raised her children and became a successful business woman. Then eventually retiring (age 77) in Boise, Idaho near her 3 children.

Lori excelled in the work environment. Her work ethic was stellar and always gave more than 100%. She was known for being intelligent, loyal and a strong defender for doing the right thing. Stubborn until the right thing was done. She also had time to show kindness, compassion, and humor. In Butte she worked with Bob Knievel (Knievel Imports) for 14 years. She then moved onto CCCS and worked as a CFO for 28 years. She formed an amazing bond with Mike Thatcher (CEO) and together they helped make CCCS an amazing company. This bond will always continue as mother and son. She thought of his family as part of her own.

Family was very important to her. She was always a strong supporter of her children ....then the grandchildren came: Kayla Mellville, Kimber (Shawn) Foster, and Jennifer (Dan) Donavan. She had the opportunity to be with Kayla since she was weeks old and there was never a day she was not involved with her life. Kayla had a grandmother like no other! She would often take Kayla for weeks to Montana to spend special grandma time. Kimber (Tammi's daughter) came into her life and more joy and adventures began with her. Jennifer (Gary's step-daughter) brought humor and love to round out the 3 grandchildren she cherished.

Lori also loved traveling and would always take the opportunity to seek new adventures. Visiting several states with family and friends as well as Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, and Italy. She always had a bag and passport ready to go!

Along with her adventurous spirit she loved to golf, ski, bike ride, horseback ride, garden, puzzles and most of all going on long walks with Oscar. Lately she made a mission to make sure no leaf was left on her 1 acre yard....snow or sun; whatever weather she would make sure there were no leaves on her lawn!

Lori is survived by her son Gary Mellville and daughters Tammi and Sheri Mellville in Boise, Idaho.

3 grandchildren: Kayla Mellville in Honolulu, Hawaii, Kimber Foster in Las Vegas, Nevada and Jennifer Donovan in Spokane, Washington. Her animal companions: Coco, Pita, Dodgie, Maddie, Red and the mule Quigley.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Harry and Gert Mitchell. Her sisters: Eva Dietchler, Bo Denson, Dot Nalley and Honey Roberts. Her husband: Spud Mellville. Animal companion: Oscar.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 2pm at Cloverdale Funeral Home Chapel in Boise, ID with interment to follow.
