Custer Forest Land Management Plan and Draft EIS Available for Public Comment

Meeting to be held in Ashland on April 8

 


The US Forest Service recently released the draft revised land management plan and draft environmental impact statement for the Custer Gallatin National Forest for public review and comment.

These plans seek to update the previous plans – the current land management plan for the Custer Forest was made in 1986, and since that time the region has seen changes in forest conditions, shifts in recreation trends, and shifts in public sentiment regarding public lands.
