5th Grade Learns about Sheep and Wool

On April 26th, two sheep, Shalaine and Jeanne, rode in a trailer to school to help teach students about sheep, fun things to do with wool, and biological control of weeds.

The 5th grade class joined the sheep in the stock trailer to watch Tom Andrews shear them or "get a haircut" for the summer. This happens once a year and by winter the sheep will have warm wool coats again. Liz Riter, Powder River Conservation District, and Elizabeth Emeline, American Bird Conservancy, and Ms. Grothe, 5th grade teacher, worked with the students.
