New Officers Elected at Broadus FFA Banquet

The Broadus FFA chapter held its annual banquet on Monday, May 6th, 2019. Food was brought by the FFA kids and parents. Before opening ceremonies began, Megan Johnson opened with an invocation. During the meal, the year in review slideshow was presented with contest certificates honoring all members given after. Lane McGill was invited as the guest speaker and did not disappoint, talking about his memories as an FFA member and how it has benefited him. Kori Kolka and Dakota Holbrook were honored as Star Greenhand and Star Creed speaker. The freshman class was then awarded the Chapter Degree, which is the highest award that the chapter can offer. The entire junior class was recognized for earning their State Degrees, and Jerrica Gotfredson her American Degree. The American Degree is the highest degree that can be bestowed on any member. Proficiency awards followed. These include the work done by members on their Supervised Agricultural Experiences or SAE's.

Bailey Smith was awarded Star Placement and Callie Williams with Star Farmer. Tedi Jo Williams, Trish Bilbrey, and Charlee Kuhbacher were honored as chaperones on FFA trips. Honorary Chapter Members included Seth Whitney and Kurt Collins. Maclain Cathey put up an impressive resume with the Chapter Scholarship Award, Leadership Award, and the Larry McGill belt buckle. Tayden Gee was also awarded the Chapter Scholarship as well as the Lincoln Best. Callie Williams was given the Amanda Gaskill Memorial Award. The 2019-2020 FFA officer team includes Callie Williams as President, Tayden Gee as Vice-President, Bailey Smith as Secretary, Megan Johnson as Treasurer, Erick McConnon as Reporter, Deanna Twedt as Historian, Beau Kuhbacher as Sentinel, Chalee Harms as Parliamentarian, and Kortny Cathey as Student Advisor.
