The long held tradition of the Little Levi Rodeo was continued on Sunday. Up and coming rodeo stars from near and far tested their mettle in events such as Goat Tail Untying, Stick Horse Barrels, Dummy Roping, Keyhole, Barrels, Pole Bending, Goat Tying, Flag Race, Crepe Paper Race, Calf Riding, and Breakaway Roping. The exact events in which contestants competed depended on their age; older kids performed in the more physical events, while the young tikes just starting out competed in some of the first events listed.

Weather was extremely pleasant for the rodeo, which meant kids, parents, and those working hard behind the scenes, running the chutes and concessions were able to enjoy the competition and fun.

Longtime announcer Mike Williams went into retirement this year, handing over the reins to his son, Witt, who continued the tradition of fun and accurate color commentary for the event.

All around winners were as follows: PeeWee Girl: Mesa Gaff, PeeWee Boy: Dylan Buffington, Junior Girl: Presley Williams, Junior Boy: Ian Mackey, Senior Girl: Josie Robbins, and Senior Boy: Kyler Day.

The Little Levi Royalty Pageant got underway bright and early Sunday morning. Contestants were judged on horsemanship, horsemanship interview, modeling and went through a personal interview. Three divisions boasted ten contestants in total, making it one of the biggest pageants in the state. Little Miss contestants included Lila LaDuke, Swayde DeSaveur and Reegan Barbour. Princess contestants were Remi Crago, Kyle Lubkeman, Hallie Sessions and Presley Williams. Junior Queen entries included Cristin Miller, Presley Pearce, and Whitney Tarver.

After all the judging was complete, coronation took place. The Little Miss title went to Lila LaDuke of Gillette. Princess honors went to local cowgirl Presley Williams, and Presley Pearce of Billings was crowned as Junior Queen. The royalty may now go on to other rodeos to promote Broadus' Little Levi Rodeo if they wish. Among other awards, the two Presley's received a yearly membership to Miss Rodeo Montana, Inc. We'll have results in next week.
