Record rains make for record hay crop

The results of ample rainfall and snow runoff are shown above, with fields full of hay bales stretching off towards the horizon.

6.26" of rainfall was recorded in Broadus over the month of July, beating the old total of 5.99" from July of 1993. The mean average for July is 1.51", so we received over 400% of our average for the month.

As of Tuesday, August 6, Broadus had received a record year to date precipitation total, with 15.61" of precipitation thus far in 2019. The previous record for the year from January 1 to August 6 was 15.26", in 1922.

The mean annual precipitation for Broadus is 13.80", which we've already surpassed. The highest recorded yearly precipitation came in 1923, with 21.38". If the past monthl...
