Belle Creek Fire Truck Recovered

August 15, 2019

The Powder River County Sheriff’s Office responded to several incidents over the last week, including the apparent theft of a Belle Creek Volunteer Fire Department pickup. The Ford pickup, which had a wildland firefighting spray rig in the bed, was eventually located and returned. According to Deputy Brenden Stevenson, an investigation is underway at this time to determine charges regarding the incident.

Two separate truck wrecks occurred during the last week, one on Hwy 59, approximately 6.5 miles north of Broadus. The trailer tipped over when the driver tried to avoid a deer.

Another wreck happened Saturday on Highway 212, near the Mizpah-Pumpkin Creek Divide, west of Broadus. In that wreck, a truck carrying aluminum can tops ran off the road and tipped over.

According to the Broadus Sheriff’s Department, no injuries occurred in either wreck.
