Cross Country moves on to State

Though it's a bit of a "Where's Waldo" scenario to find the Broadus Cross Country runners, both Rheanna Schroeder (jersey #1458) and Rachel Rasmussen (#1457) are fully visible in the picture. Samantha Perry and Chalee Harms may just be seen over Rachel's left and right shoulders, respectively. This photo was taken at the beginning of the Joliet race, and comes to us courtesy of Ashley Emmons.

The Broadus Lady Hawk Cross Country Team finished their regular season last week. The four competitors: Rachel Rasmussen, Rheanna Schroeder, Samantha Perry, and Chalee Harms, have all qualified for State.

Here are the results of the past few meets:

The team is now ready to go on to State Cross Country, which will take place this Saturday in Great Falls.

Coach Ashley Emmons says the team is registered and ready, and will take off Friday morning. The race itself will take place at 12:35 pm on Saturday, on a course Emmons says is similar to our home course at Rolling Hills Golf Course.

Emmons commented on the team's preparation for State: "We have been putting in great workouts and have started to change up the workouts so we are ready to peak on Saturday. I'm so excited for the girls!"

The Broadus team is currently ranked 12th in the State, and Ashley's goal is to place in the Top 10. Last year's Cross Country team placed 9th.
