Broadus Cross Country Team competes at State

The Broadus Lady Hawk Cross Country team, consisting of Rachel Rasmussen, Rheanna Schroeder, and Samantha Perry, competed in Great Falls last weekend for the State Competition.
The conditions were sub-optimal for the race, with several inches of snow falling on the course before the runners lined up for the start. Racers were bundled up to handle the cold, and the times posted by the Broadus runners were quite good, especially considering the conditions.
Rachel Rasmussen led the Broadus assault, with a 25 minute 51.75 second time. Rheanna Schroeder came in with a 26 minute 56.67 second run, and Samantha Perry ran the course in 27 minutes 16.69 seconds.
The performances landed the Broadus runners in 13th place overall in the State as a team.
Seeley-Swan was the winning Girls Class C team, and Averi Parker of West Yellowstone came in first individually with a 20 minute 11.16 second time.
Broadus Head Coach Ashley Emmons is looking to recruit more runners for next season, so current 8th graders and high school girls looking to expand their cardio fitness and have some fun next fall should contact Ashley with any questions.
