Lewis Hoffman

Lewis Eugene Hoffman, age 65, passed away in Rapid City, SD on January 6, 2020 with his wife and son by his side.
He was born June 16, 1954 in Belle Fourche, South Dakota to Violet (Amen) and George Hoffman. He graduated from Powder River High School. He later joined the US Marine Corps and spent time in Okinawa. He was honorably discharged and worked for his dad on a ranch by Biddle Montana for a while. In 1980, he married his wife Marla. In 1991, they moved to Elko Nevada and they both ran heavy equipment in a gold mine. In 2001, they moved to Wyoming for oilfield work. In 2007 they moved to Watford City North Dakota with the oil industry and they retired and moved back home to Broadus Montana in 2018.
Lewis is survived by his wife Marla, son Bill (Jody) and six grandkids: Brianna, Gabriella, Levi, Sam, Emily and Hannah; sisters: Sandy Ott, Georgia Bement, Wanda Edwards and one brother Jim. And many nieces and nephews that he held close to his heart. Lewis never met a person he didn't consider a friend and all the kids he helped with in Little League baseball. He also loved his little soul mate dogs Ida and Max. He also loved to sing and had a good voice; he always sang "Cowboys ain't supposed to cry."
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus.
