“Teddy is ready for Broadus!” says Joe Wiegand, the nation’s premiere reprisor of historical figure Theodore Roosevelt. Joe has traveled extensively performing the “Teddy Roosevelt Show” internationally and in all 50 states and we’re excited to announce that he’s coming to Carter & Powder River Counties! Joined by musical talent Colleen Reinhardt, Joe will be offering several free performances in our area in early April.

On the evening of Thursday, April 2nd the Boyes Community Hall will host a sloppy joe supper starting at 5pm, followed by the Teddy Roosevelt Show at 6pm. Free will offering for the supper will benefit the Hall and other Boyes community programs. Friday, April 3rd brings the show to Broadus, where the Powder River Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture will host a free social hour with Teddy Roosevelt from 4:30-5:30 at the Powder River Historical Museum. Following the gathering at the museum, come to Seabecks at 6pm for the dinner show and enjoy “Pizza with the President”! Free will donations will go towards supporting our local Historical Museum. Other scheduled stops in the area include Hammond and Broadus Schools as well as the Powder River Manor, barring any health concerns at the time.

Teddy Roosevelt led a fascinating life that included stints as the police commissioner of New York City, cattle rancher in North Dakota, author, military officer, and of course, the 26th President of the United States. Joe’s live performances have been featured at hundreds of historic places associated with Theodore Roosevelt’s life and his rendition is based on solid scholarship and delivered with true Rooseveltian showmanship.

Prior to reprising Theodore Roosevelt, Joe spent twenty-five years in Illinois politics but in 2008, Joe set out with his wife, daughter and golden retriever on a fifty state tour celebrating TR’s Sesquicentennial birthday and the Centennial of TR’s final year in office. The highlight was a performance at the White House for President & Mrs. George W. Bush on TR’s 150th birthday.

Joe’s TR Tour is sponsored, in part, by the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation of Medora, ND, gateway to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, where Joe will be featured in the summer of 2020. “This tour is just a long overdue thank you to the families in and nearby Powder River & Carter Counties for their decades of support for and involvement with Medora” says Joe.

We appreciate to opportunity to welcome Joe and Colleen to the area and hope you’ll catch one of the upcoming performances in benefit of our local groups.
