B.I.P.A Ballot Interference Prevention Act
In the November 2018 General election, LR129 passed with 69% approval, which implemented the ballot interference prevention act, or BIPA. Under BIPA, election administrators are required to have all ballot collectors register their contact information and each voter’s address for every ballot they deliver on behalf of another voter. The law states 1 collector per 6 ballots. This law does not apply to ballots dropped in the mail. Basically, if someone wants to deliver a ballot other than their own, I am required by law to have the deliverer fill out a form. This form can be found on our website or can be picked up at our office.
