Graduation Will Take Place This Saturday

By Dori Phillips

Graduation is only a few days away! This Saturday, June 27th, Baccalaureate will take place at 1:00 at Faith Bible Church, followed by Graduation at 3:00 on the football field. The weather looks to be hot and sunny so bring your lawn chairs and sun screen! There will be limited seating available so we recommend bringing a chair for closer seating and to allow your family to spread out in groups of 50 or less. Hand sanitizer will be available as you enter. Masks are recommended but not required.

This year will look and feel a bit different. There will be no parking in the back of the school for the general public. These spots are reserved for the graduates’ families. If you are not able to walk to the back of the school, we recommend staying home in your air conditioned homes and watching live on Facebook. You can access this on the Broadus Schools Facebook page.

A full ceremony is planned, including speeches, diplomas, academic and athletic awards, and scholarships.

Another change is our receiving line immediately following graduation. The graduates will line up on the sidewalk in front of the high school. You are welcome to drive by and drop off gifts or walk along the sidewalk to greet our graduates and congratulate them.

Our graduates have waited for this day! Please do your part to help us keep them healthy and our community safe.
