Locals win at WTRC Finals

The Wrangler Team Roping Championships Finals took place at MetraPark in Billings, MT, September 28-October 4th.

The WTRC Finals draws teams from across the country, including amateurs to current and former National Finals Rodeo qualifiers.

Many locals participated in the event; among the youngest competitors was 6th grader Kyler Day of Volborg. With money, saddles, buckles, and even pickup trucks up for grabs, Kyler brought home a passel of awards. His roping partners included his father Radley, his grandpa Bud Williams and his uncle Taylor Williams.

Along with Kyler, other local winners were as follows: #6.5 Incentive Winners: 1st - $4,800, Parker Johnson & Kyler Day, 13.67; 3rd - $2,600, Tate Poppe & Kyler Day 18.68; #7.5 Championship: 1st - $12,278, Parker Johnson & Kyler Day, 21.39; #8.5 Championship: 11th - $1,500, David Tescher & Jeremy Godfrey, 27.56; #10.5 Championships: 3rd - $8,092, Radley Day & Kyler Day, 35.03; 4th - $6,462, Bud Williams & Radley Day, 35.22; #11.5 Championships: 8th - $1,602, Trey Fleming & Britt Williams, 32.35; #13.5 Gold Digger: 5th - $4,000, Elliot Gourneau & Taylor Williams, 30.85; #14.5 Championships: 1st - $10,516, Radley Day & Taylor Williams, 26.83; #15.5 Gold Digger: 3rd - $5,008, Radley Day & Douglas Rich, 27.41.
