Fall Art Show coming up this weekend

The local artists and artisans of Art & Soul are excited to present an art show, sale and children’s art contest. Their fall art show, titled “Studio Harvest” will be held this weekend, November 21-22 in the lobby of the County Courthouse. The hours are Saturday, 10am-7pm and Sunday, noon-4pm.

There will be a wonderful variety of two dimensional original, framed art in oils, pastels, watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, scratchboard and pencil on display with many of the pieces for sale. Bead artistry, jewelry and decorative gourds, smaller unframed original works, art prints and cards will also be offered for sale.

In addition to the above, the group is hosting a children’s art contest. This contest is open to all children up to and including 6th grade. The theme is “Fall Harvest” and may include any original two-dimensional art up to 12” x 12”. Entries are limited to one per child. The contest will be judged and cash prizes will be awarded to the winners of a preschool division and a 1st-6th grade division. Entries will be on display during the duration of the show for the public to enjoy.


Other features will be a silent auction and daily door prizes. Participating artists are Blondie Woolston, Kate Ruland, Cheryl Fields, Laura Lee Ulrich, Emma Isaacs, Kim Blain, Ann Emmons, Ronda Gatlin, Gaylene Fortner, Sonja Harrington, and Lana Smith.

These hard-working artists/ artisans are eager to share with you their latest creations, so please come and show your support of their creative endeavors.
