Broadus Public Schools will soon destroy cumulative records of all students who graduated prior to 2010. Cumulative records may include intelligence and aptitude scores, extracurricular activities participation, honors and awards, various reports or information concerning the student’s education, and disciplinary information. Cumulative records DO NOT include reports of academic work, final transcripts, level of achievement, immunization and attendance records, which are required to be maintained indefinitely for all students who attended school.

Broadus Public Schools will also destroy special education/ speech-language therapy records of former students who have been out of school for at least five years. Former students may review the files or obtain copies of the information contained in them. The data to be destroyed shall include information collected for identification, location, evaluation, and other items directly related to special education services which the student had received.

Former students may contact Dori Phillips at 436-2658 within 30 days of this notice if they wish to review the files or obtain copies of the information contained in them.
