Develop your parenting skills through a virtual Active Parenting course developed by Dr. Michael Popkin, parenting expert and father, and facilitated by MSU Extension Agents. The class is designed for parents of children ages 5 to 12. The virtual 6-week course begins Thursday, February 4th, and will run from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. each Thursday evening through March 4th.

The course will help parents and caregivers learn ways to raise responsible children who are able to resist negative peer pressure. Parents will also learn non-violent discipline techniques and effective communication and encouragement skills to build and develop a solid foundation with their children for the upcoming teen years.

Video, discussion, and activities make for a fast-paced workshop. The Active Parenting 4th Edition uses entertaining video scenes to demonstrate common parenting challenges and solutions. Each session allows plenty of time for group discussion and activities.

The class will cost $15 and scholarships are available if needed. This includes the course materials which will be shipped to you prior to the start of class. Registration opens January 18th. To register, contact Lori Mayr at 406-994-6969 or lorelyn. [email protected].
