Yoga Classes Begin February 1st

Yoga with Dr. George classes begin next week. Classes will be offered each Monday from 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and each Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 7:45 a.m. beginning the first week in February. Both classes will be held in the Courthouse Lobby.
There are many physical and mental health benefits to practicing yoga. Dr. George explained that Yoga improves our physical health in many ways, including:
• Develops relaxation techniques to lessen chronic pain;
• Lowers blood pressure;
• Reduces insomnia;
• Increases muscle strength, flexibility and tone and to strengthen and protect joints and organs;
• Improves respiration, energy and vitality; and,
• Maintains a balanced metabolism.
Yoga also benefits mental health by helping us manage stress, develop coping skills, achieve a more positive outlook on life, increase well-being, relax the mind and create mental clarity, concentration and calm.
Register for the class by calling the Extension Office at 436-2424. Comfortable clothing is recommended, the class is free and mats will be provided.
