February 18, 2021

Commissioners met for their weekly meeting with Lee Randall, Donna Giacometto, and John Olson present.

Meeting was called to order. No public comment was received at this time.

Consent agenda was approved.

Marty Drane, Maintenance Supervisor, met with the board. Drane reported new automatic locks are here for the fairgrounds. Garbage can racks are finished and will be put out today at the truck stop across from Cashway Café. Drane has replaced the roof in the porta potty at the landfill.

The board then discussed the creation of the EMS director. The board decided to better understand the duties of the position it was in the best interest for a commissioner to take on this responsibility. John motioned to appoint Commissioner Donna Giacometto as Interim EMS Director, Lee seconded motion, all in favor, motion carried.

Pat Phillippi, County Treasurer, stopped in to present securities and interest from September 2020 until January 2021 to commissioners.


Billy Stuver stopped in request information on the EMS program and airport.

Teel Mullanix, Road Supervisor, stopped in to visit about a few road issues and to request to be on the agenda for Monday, February 22.

No public comment was heard at this time. Meeting adjourned.

February 22, 2021

Commissioners met for their weekly meeting with Lee Randall, Donna Giacometto, and John Olson present.

Meeting was called to order. Consent agenda was approved and no public comment was heard at this time.

Pam Walling and Joanne Romasko, MACO Healthcare Trust Representatives, met with board to present the 2021-22 health care benefit package. The board will review benefits and make a final decision at next meeting.


Darlynn Williams, Public Health Nurse, met with the board. Williams updated on the Public Health Department and COVID vaccine clinics.

The board reviewed payroll sheets for the February 26th pay date.

At 1:00 P.M., the board continued discussion on EMS service with no decisions made.

At 2:00 p.m., the board reviewed and discussed the USDA Business Development Grant for up to $50,000 in funding for a small business in Broadus. Donna motioned to apply for the grant, John seconded the motion, all in favor, motion carried.

KLJ engineer Nathan Schroht, called in to visit with the commissioners regarding the hangar project. KLJ presented the engineering fee schedule.


Garrett Cunningham, local FFA member, met with board to update on the chute project for the fairgrounds. Cunningham reported the chute is finished and ready to be installed and also came in under budget.

Teel Mullanix, Road Supervisor, met with the board. Discussion was held on the interlocal agreement to crush gravel between Powder River and Custer County. The board reviewed and signed the agreement. Mullanix reported on roads, seasonal help and possible weight restrictions on county roads; no decision was made.

Hearing no further public comment, the meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
