The Powder River Trails organization is organizing a community walk, “Still I Walk”, to raise awareness about mental health. Raising awareness about mental health issues including anxiety, depression or substance misuse is vital for ending the stigma surrounding mental health. Increasing awareness helps people understand they are not alone.

“It’s okay to not be okay,” explained Abbey Barnhart, new Certified Physician Assistant at the Powder River Medical Clinic. The “Still I Walk” will raise awareness to help people know when and where to look for help.

“Still I Walk” begins at the Trailhead under the Windmill on the Courthouse Square in Broadus on Saturday, October 9th, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Participants can walk ALL or PART of the way to the golf course and back on the newly mown trail located just south of Highway 59/212. A chili fundraiser lunch in the Election Room will cap off the morning walk.

Powder River Trails is looking for sponsors, either businesses or individuals, to sponsor walkers. Registration or sponsorship is $20 a person and includes a t-shirt. Contact the MSU Extension office at 436-2424 to register or for more information.
