From dragon shish-kabobs and ice breakers to masks and movie, 4-H Mini-Congress featured every variety of dragon imaginable, according to MSU Extension Powder River County Agent Mary Rumph.
The movie 'How to Train Your Dragon' provided the theme for the event attended by twenty-five participants. Teen 4-H members Lauryn Billing, Oliveah and Zeason Schaffer, Lea and Becca Aye, Colton Biesheuvel, Aspen Krantz, and Shyla Madsen plus friend Maddie Zimmer planned and coordinated the afternoon and evening of workshops and fun held on New Year's Day at the Powder River County District High School. Extension Agent Julie Riley "set the stage" by engaging with the teens to provide a welcoming event creating positive connections with the youth who attended.
Workshops included making dragon masks, dragon snacks, and playing basketball, cornhole and board games. Dragon "hide and seek" was a highlight of the evening. Participants included Justin Aye, Rickee Bilbrey, Maddie Brownfield, Maci and Reece Emmons, Anna and Kassie Hagedorn, Addison and Emelyn Harper, Sammie Hart, Kimber and Sutton Hodge, Raegan Klemm, Avery and Madisyn Kramme, Dylan Krantz, Macey Madson, Addi and Kinzie Randall, Kaylan Reaves, William Rodda, Rachel Rosencranz, Delaney Ruland, Laney Williams and Aria Gatlin.
