Quilt Club Minutes
January 21, 2022
Submitted by Pat Ridenour
Seven Quilt Club members met at the election room of the Courthouse on January 12, 2022 at 1:30 PM. Some of the items we discussed were keeping the dues at $10.00 for the coming year and the meeting time and place. Meeting on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month was agreeable with all attending. We will be asking members to select a month to be responsible for the planning and letting members know the month in advance what, if any, supplies we will need for their month.
We will be having a mystery quilt workshop starting on February 8th. Supplies information can be picked up at the meeting on January 25th. February 8th will be the day to bring your fabrics and cutting board and cutter so you can cut the strips needed for the throw sized quilt.
Dawn Mraz told us about the quilting retreats in Forsyth in February, May and September. Contact her if you need more information on that event.
Elaine George passed out information given to her by Wayward Quilters. She had 2 patterns she shared also. Elaine showed fabric she had purchased for a quilt from Annie’s Strip Club.
Pat Ridenour handed out printed info from a quilting magazine on preparing backing, batting, and top before taking your quilt to a long arm quilter.
We discussed having a quilt show with a different format and venue later in the year. More information will come as we firm up our plans.
A flying geese demo will be done at the next meeting.
Two members brought quilts in progress (tops) to show to the group. If you would like to join us, please mark your calendars on our meeting dates and attend our meeting on January 25th at 1:30 PM at the Courthouse.
