Norma Ann "Dolly" Rath Gorder

Norma Gorder, age 85, passed away after a brief illness on February 24, 2022 in Miles City, MT.

Norma was born in Bowman County, ND on June 7, 1936 to parents Emil & Leona Rath. She went to school in Scranton, ND. Norma enjoyed all sports and participated in many throughout her life.

On May 2, 1955, Norma married Clarence Gorder. They spent most of their married life in eastern Montana. Norma was a people person. She chose jobs that allowed her to be around them as much as possible.

Norma’s favorite pastimes included knitting and reading. She made beautiful baby sweaters and gave them to family and friends for new additions to their families. She enjoyed being with her family. She especially liked birthdays & holidays because that meant her family would be together.

Norma and Clarence had five children: Connie Gorder, James (Tracey) Gorder, Dale Gorder, Bill (Brenda Hopkins) Gorder, and Alva Pulver. Through these children they were blessed with ten grandchildren: Kristal (Jeffrey) Craig, Brandon Pulver, Brooke Pulver, Michael Gorder, Mathew (Britney) Gorder, Daniel Gorder, Caitlin (Tylor Brown) Gorder, Jolene Lovett, Josh (Teri) Hopkins, and Jessie Vaughn. They extended their family further with 17 great-grandchildren: Jennalynn, Jerrick and Julianna Craig; Dominic and Abigail Gorder; Bradley Brown; Ivy Hopkins and Cedar Lovett; Victoria and Christopher Hopkins, Adrian Mellen, Jessica, Emilio and Rozilyn Hopkins; Brian Hopkins, Hailey Ferris, and Cadence Hopkins. Norma’s family was extended even further with one great great-grandson: Gray Alto.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, several sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Powder River Manor for taking such great care of Norma during her stay.
