On February 23, 2022, Liz Riter and Sarah Fortner with the Powder River Conservation District met with the Kindergarten class to teach them about food groups and pizza. First, we talked about foods raised on our local ranches and gardens. The students then sorted pictures of food into the different food groups; the grain group, meat group, vegetable group, fruit group, and milk group. We built pretend pizzas out of felt while continuing to discuss food groups. Last, we had a snack of Seabeck Pizza and orange juice. Yummy! They also received a packet of coloring pages about agriculture from PRCD to enjoy on their own time.
