Young Wrestlers Hone Their Skills

 

54 young wrestlers in grades K-12 attended the Zadick Wrestling Clinic in Broadus last week. Olympic Wrestler and World Championship Silver Medalist Mike Zadick from Great Falls coached the event, which featured youth wrestlers from Broadus as well as other areas. Several awards were presented at the clinic, including "hustle" caps, for those who displayed the best hustle on respective days of training. Day 1 winners included Monte Goggin, Thane Kolka, Sophie Ostendorf, and Myla Gatlin. Day 2 winners included Clinton Handran, Mesa Graff, Cole Draine, and Mason Kolka. Alex Edwards and Riggin Schaffer also won awards for the older age group. Outstanding wrestler for the K-4 age group was Trace Emmons (pictured above with Mike Zadick. The 5-12 age group outstanding wrestler was Tucker Edwards of Wright, WY.

The clinic concluded with a takedown tournament and taco feed. Tounament bracket winners included Otto Riley, Mason Kolka, Cole Draine, Kail Irish, and Riggin Schaffer.
