Smoking banned from local school buildings

When the new school year gets underway in Broadus next Monday, there will be no ashtrays at either the elementary or secondary facilities.

The Unified Board of Trustees banned tobacco smoking in any school owned building, at any time. The vote for the ban was unanimous among the seven Board members attending a meeting Monday night. That means the single smoker on the Board even supported the ban.
