Steps for Charity Challenge Update

February 14, 2019

35 teams!! That’s 140 people AND $1,400 to the top 3 charities.

People are walking on treadmills, walking to the post office and several have walked the high school hallways!

Darlynn Williams, Mills Movers member said, “We should just be called the Donaters!”

And Over FIFTEEN Charities!

There are more than 15 well-deserving charities selected by the 35 teams. The list of teams, their members and their charities will be showcased in the weekly articles. Two businesses sponsored three teams each…we will start with them.

BROADUS IGA supports the SENIOR CENTER!

Broadus IGA Team #1 – Rita Harden, Shane Woolston, Kat Hobart and John Williams make up this hardy team!

Broadus IGA Team #2 – Gail Harden, Connie Hunt, Darlene Woolston and Amanda Smith make up the second team from the BROADUS IGA.

Broadus IGA Team #3 – Carolyn Sturdevant, Gabby Richards, Josh Arce and Devan Woolston make up the third BROADUS IGA Team.

It’s the second year in a row that BROADUS IGA has supported the Senior Center. And, this year they are coming in strong with support from three teams in the competition! Rita Harden explained, “Our seniors make our community strong. They are great supporters of our local economy!”

MIZPAH MASTERS 4-H Club team members Justin Aye, Becca Aye, Jeff Cahoon and Maddie Kramme chose the Senior Center as their charity, ALSO, for the second year in a row! "It is important that we support our senior citizens by supporting a place they visit and socialize. There's no better way to support the community then to support those that supported us." --The Masters team members

DON’S DIAMONDS team members are Don Gatlin, Lula May Bruce, Dee Katus and Pat Ridenour. This great team enjoys the Center each week for cards, exercises and good conversation.

Pat Ridenour, Director of the Senior Center, and all the seniors appreciate the great community support!

Team members are encouraged to report their steps each Monday.
