Fair Livestock Carcass Contest Results

Carcass grading utilizing ultrasound was part of the Powder River County Fair. Elin Kittelmann, NSIP/UGS Certified Ultrasound Technician from Ekalaka, showed 4-H members what the image looked like on the computer screen. Collecting data in this manner allowed for a carcass contest for lambs in addition to hogs and steers and helped ease over-crowding at processing plants.
