Food Bank Receives Large Donation

By Pat Ridenour, Senior Center Director

Powder River Food Bank located in the Senior Center has recently received 25 cases of food donated to them for public use from Broadus Insurance Service.

This is the second donation from the local company in recent months. They are giving back to the community through the Food Bank to help those who are out of work or struggling to keep food on the table through these trying times of the COVID-19 world pandemic and throughout the year.

The Food Bank has a good selection of canned fruits and vegetables, some meal complements such as macaroni and cheese, soups and some personal items for men and women. We also have a freezer with ground beef donated from local ranchers for your use.

Please call me, Pat Ridenour, at home at 436-2416 with a list of your needs and I will fill the order as best as I can with what we have on hand. I will deliver to the curbside at the Senior Center for you to pick up. The Senior Center is closed except for this service so you will not need to come into the Senior Center building as we are trying to comply with the Social Distancing rules, but still serve the public.

Please call between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM. If I do not pick up the phone, please leave a message and I will return your call.

The Food Bank items are free and service is confidential.

If you would like to donate to the Food Bank, we can only use foods with a Sell by/Use by Date of June 2020.

On the same note, I will be making up the commodities bags and delivering them in town soon. I will call first to let you know when they will be at your door.

Use the social distancing, and hand washing techniques, and STAY HOME AND STAY SAFE. We will all be OK.
