The VFW Auxiliary met September 9, 2020 at the VFW Hall for their regular monthly meeting. Officers for the ensuing year were installed. Past Post 1595 Commander, Marty Drane, was installing officer. Officers are as follows: President-Annie Brimmer, Sr. Vice President-Molly Lloyd, Jr. Vice President-Nina Schaffer, Secretary-Pat Ridenour, Treasurer-Tracey Gorder, Chaplain-Margaret Scoles, Conductress-Ginger Bird, Patriotic Instructor-Patti Brix, Guard-Sue Richards, 3 year Trustee – Carol Richards. We do thank Marty for being our installing officer. Not an elected office, but so important to our Auxiliary is the Buddy Poppy Chairman. Pat Hanlan has graciously accepted that role again. She does a great job making sure people know about poppies.

Our next meeting will be October 14, 2020 at 5:15 at the hall.

Following our regular meeting our District 6 Spring-Fall meeting was held at the hall at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom (I think). I turned that over to Tracey (I’m computer challenged). She got it all arranged so we could meet and carry on our business including the election of district officers. Broadus was well represented – Ginger Bird-Treasurer, Patty Brix-Jr. Vice President, Annie Brimmer-Pianist and 1 year Trustee. We also had the best attendance (7 members). Good job ladies, and Tracey a big thank you for getting it all set up. This means we will not be making a trip to Jordan September 12.

We’re missing our member, Nina. We hope she’ll be able to join us again soon.

Well, the pumpkin has been frosted and I’m sure trees that have leaves will turn gold – fall is in the air – yup, you guessed it, winter is making its plans.
