Congratulations to Riley Mitchell for being the first PRCDHS student to code a robot to go through a maze! Last year Riley, as a 7th grader, built the robot that can be seen in the photo. Unfortunately, due to the COVID school shutdown, she was unable to finish the coding part of her enrichment class project.

This year Riley picked up where she left off in Enrichment Class and persisted on her project until her coding skills succeeded in navigating the robot. Recently, she demonstrated her maze maneuvers for her dad, Levi Mitchell, who videotaped Riley and her robot. The video can be seen on the Broadus school facebook page. Later she gave a robot maze demonstration for math and enrichment students as well as for her grandmother, Barb Mitchell, administrators, math teacher, Mr. Meyers and enrichment teacher, Mrs. Barnhart. At the end of her coding project, she will disassemble the robot so that other PRCDHS students can sharpen their 21st century skills of robotics and coding.
