Steps For Charity Week 2

WALKers walked their steps by -

“Working with weights and the elliptical from 5:45 – 6:15 on school mornings while I talk to my daughter in Minneapolis,” Connie Barnhart, Step Sistars

“Walking to the mailbox and playing dodgeball,” Esther, Trinity, Shiloh and Katya Stiegelmeier, Otter Trotters

Charities highlighted this week are the Broadus Community Heritage Center and the Broadus Cancer Fund. The teams walking for these charities are:

WALK Don’t Run - Tara Andrews and Mary, Jackie and Owen Rumph: “We love our Community Center and it takes funds to keep it maintained and repaired.”

Agony of De Feet - Tom, Cole, Caitlin Riggs and Morgan Weller

Mizpah Movers - William Rodda, Avery, Maddie and Krystin Kramme, sponsored by Mizpah Masters

4-H Shin Splints - Abbey Barnhart, Darlynn Williams, Kerry Gardner, Vikki Klemm

The New Forty - Jackie and Cassie Walden, Louise Wilson and Lori Dinstel

The Waddling Outlaws - Kitty Riggs, Susie and Ralph Amsden and Debbie Law

“We all have family and friends who have been touched by cancer and we want to help others who may be struggling now.”

Comments on walking: Physical exercise (WALKING) helps us lose weight, increases our physical strength, and reduces stress. WALKING increases the blood flow to the brain, bringing oxygen and nutrients and taking away waste products. Brisk WALKING for 30 minutes a day builds brain health.
