The Boyes Community Club held their 40th Annual Italian Dinner combined with a hog roast on Saturday June 4th at the Boyes Community Hall. The Lord graciously provided us with beautiful weather for a fun filled day. This weather sure beats the usual 30 below weather in February that we've been battling with in recent years.

Many attendees were present, spanning from locations such as Rapid City, Belle Fourche, Spearfish and other surrounding towns in SD, as well as Hulett, Gillette, and Sheridan, WY.

Representation from Montana came from Otter, Volborg, Miles City, Jordan, Ekalaka, Baker, Broadus, and of course, Boyes.

Many of the attendees were interested in watching BJ Ostendorf & family as he roasted 2 hogs that were purchases from Nichole Wiese (daughter of Boyes community resident Sylvia Landa) from Baker, MT.

Outdoor games for kids and adults were enjoyed by many. A huge thank you to the Hammond Helpers 4-H Club for coordinating the kids' games. Another thank you to Slug Mills for picking up the large tent from the Amish community of Ashland and for all the guys who helped set it up and take it down.

The meal consisted of roasted pulled pork, many delicious Italian sides and desserts along with the coveted handmade ravioli provided by the community ladies. We thank all of them for their time and talents. Aside from the door cover charge the club sold extra roasted pork, prepared ravioli dishes, and silent auction items. Commemorative t-shirts, sweatshirts, and aprons may still be purchased by contacting The Daisy Patch at: thedaisypatch.org/boyes.

After the meal was served and cleaned up, The Bearded Guy DJ (Mike & Megan Stephens) entertained all with music for dancing that young and old alike enjoyed. Thank you. Thank you to those who helped clean up the inside and outside of the hall with cutting grass, cleaning the restrooms, scrubbing the floor, and many other tasks.

We are blessed to live in a community that supports one another.
