The final contest of the County Fair is the carcass contest. A carcass show was held at Broadus Meats and gave exhibitors a chance to see what marbling looks like, how to measure a ribeye and how to measure backfat, said MSU Extension Agent Mary Rumph. Top carcass exhibitors who were recognized include, back row: Danica and Jordyn Schroeder, Macey Madsen and Justin Aye; front row: Carter D'Amico, Trace Emmons and Kinzie Randall. The Beef Carcass cash awards, sponsored by The Body Shop and Lester & Dawn Aye went to 3rd place – Carter D-Amico; 2nd – Danica Schroeder and 1st – Trace Emmons. Trace also received a buckle sponsored by the Craig & Christine Appleman Family. The Swine cash awards, sponsored by Northwest Farm Credit and Denbury Onshore were awarded to 3rd place – Danica Schroeder, 2nd – Justin Aye and 1st – Jordyn Schroeder who also received a buckle sponsored by Fleming and Long Insurance. The Lamb Carcass cash awards sponsored by Askin Construction and Jim & Emily Madsen went to 3rd place – Shaylee Bilbrey (not pictured); 2nd - Macey Madsen and 1st place to Kinzie Randall who also received a buckle sponsored by Dale Edwards Inc - Francis & Diana Edwards and Steve & Sarah Edwards.
