September 12th through the 17th was Homecoming at Broadus Schools, with a number of activities taking place over the course of the week. Each day students were able to dress up in various costumes and outfits, such as "Anything but a Backpack Day" on Tuesday, where students brought their books and other accoutrements to school in anything they pleased, other than a backpack. Creative students used items like a bra or a little sister carried on the back to complete their ensemble.

Meanwhile, in a change from years past students delivered "spirit boxes" to town businesess, where the businesses could decorate for themselves, with crepe paper in school colors, markers, and signs made by the students. In previous years kids traveled downtown and decorated the storefronts, then cleaned up the week after Homecoming.

On Tuesday, Coronation of the Homecoming King and Queen was held in the auditorium, with Rheanna Schroeder proclaimed Homecoming Queen, and Dillon Gee proclaimed King.

An immense bonfire took place Thursday evening in the traditional location out near the high school parking lot, prefaced with a drumline performed by school musicians.

On Friday, a Homecoming Parade wound through the streets, with game themed floats as the order of the day. The senior class won the competition with their Mario themed float, followed by the juniors with Twister, the 7th grade with Candyland, the 8th grade with PacMan, 9th grade with Wii Sports, and 10th grade with their Minecraft float. Elementary students on bicycles rode in the parade to finish off Bike Week.

Throughout the week athletic events filled the schedule, with Broadus XC runners competing at the Home Meet at Rolling Hills Golf Course on Tuesday, the football teams competing on the gridiron Friday, and volleyball players going up over the net on Saturday to punctuate the week.
