Superintendent's Report

By Broadus Schools Superintendent Jim Hansen

Each Fall I welcome staff back to school and speak on various topics. This year I discussed the word “Just.” The word is often used to minimize the importance of something or someone. We have all heard comments stating they are “Just” a teacher, custodian, stock boy, stay-at-home parent, farmer, or carpenter. Someone once informed me that whenever someone states you “Just” have to do something, it is usually more difficult than their perceptions. Unfortunately, one does not need look far to find a help-wanted sign. Most jobs are more challenging and affect us much more than we realize. We are all “Just” something that makes a difference.

I believe the school year has gotten off to a great start. The staff is excited to continue providing a quality education to the students of Powder River County, and we appreciate what all of you who make this school and community a great place to live. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 436-2658.
