The Broadus Lady Hawk volleyball team continued their season of excellent play on Saturday, as they hosted Terry for Homecoming.

"The girls came out and played well," Broadus Head Coach Gordon Archer commented on the match. "I'm proud of the team; they didn't play down, they played at the level we need to be playing."

Lauryn Billing went 25 for 25 on serving with 8 aces in the win, as well as contributing 12 sets, or half of the Lady Hawks total. Zeason Schaffer had 9 kills in the match.

Archer gave props to the Terry Coach for helping to improve the program, as the Lady Terriers work to progress their performance over previous seasons. Archer tried three different line-ups during the match, with the second set featuring a large percentage of younger Broadus players.

Broadus was able to win in three straight sets, 25-16, 25-21, and 25-14, sending the Lady Hawks to 6-0 in conference play to lead the 2C conference, and an 8-0 overall record. Jordan sits at 4-0 in conference and 7-1 overall, trailed by Circle at 3-1 in conference and 6-1 overall, their only loss coming to Broadus.

This Thursday the Lady Hawks will travel to Ekalaka. The Lady Bulldogs sit fourth in the conference with a 2-2 record and 3-3 overall record.

"We expect to face a determined team," Archer commented. If they have everyone healthy they have some tall players which could pose some interesting things for us."

This Saturday Broadus will travel to the Belle Fourche tourney, facing a plethora of South Dakota teams. Depending on how the brackets line up Broadus could face teams from much larger towns such as Sturgis, Belle Fourche, or Rapid City, and Archer expects the Lady Hawks to face some challenges from these larger teams.
