Lady Hawk Volleyball Finishes Regular Season Undefeated

With their win against Wibaux last Thursday, the 2022 Broadus Lady Hawk Volleyball team finished their regular season with a perfect 23-0 record, having won all 12 conference matches this season.

In the match last week, Wibaux tried a different defense to try to counteract the hard hitting kills of Zeason Schaffer, and the defense seemed to work for a time. The problem for Wibaux was that Broadus' serving was on fire, as the team went 93% on serves, with 11 aces in the three set match. On top of that, Zeason figured out their defensive scheme, according to Broadus Head Coach Gordon Archer, and the Broadus was further able to capitalize. Broadus won the match 25-16, 25-13, and 25-16.

Broadus now looks towards the District Tournament this week in Glendive. With the conference win Broadus has a first round bye, and will face the winner of Ekalaka and Wibaux (the #4 and #5 ranked teams, each finishing with a 5-7 conference record) on Thursday afternoon at 3 pm.

With three teams advancing from the 4C District to the Divisional tournament next week in Culbertson, Broadus has a splendid chance of continuing their season, but they are looking to not only continue their season but continue their dominant performance.

"Everyone is now 0-0 going into tournaments," Coach Archer spoke of his outlook. "The other teams will be gunning for us, but we're in a good position. We've met every challenge so far this season, and I don't see anything to make me believe that won't continue."
