Which Montana college fans can donate the most amount of food to the Powder River County food bank? The Montana State University-Powder River County Extension Office is betting it’s the Montana State University Bobcat fans. Powder River County Attorney, Jeff Noble, a dedicated Griz fan, is betting the University of Montana Griz fans will collect the most donations! The Brawl of the Wild has come to Powder River County. Which team will win the food drive?

The competition is underway, and concludes at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17th, prior to the Brawl of the Wild football game between MSU and UM set for Saturday, Nov. 19th. Nonperishable food donations can be taken to the Powder River County Courthouse in Broadus.

Monetary donations can also be made directly to the Powder River County Food Bank located at the Senior Center. Each dollar counts as one pound of food. Bobcat supporters can donate to MSU’s total by donating to Can the Griz. Griz fans can donate to UofM’s total by donating to Can the Cats. Call the Senior Center at 436-2635 to make a cash donation.

The Powder River Food Bank wins no matter which fans raise the most donations. Tammy Jackman, Powder River Food Bank Director, said that cream of mushroom and vegetable soups, chili, spaghetti sauce, pasta, crackers, canned tomatoes, and canned meats such as tuna, beef and chicken are all excellent donations, but she asked for no canned vegetables, they have plenty of canned vegetables. All donated food products should not be expired.
