FFA Competes At NILE

By Broadus FFA Advisor Faith Dyrud

Monday, October 17th, the Broadus FFA went to NILE to compete in Livestock and Horse Evaluation. The Livestock Team consisted of April Wood, Rheanna Schroeder, Mia Mader, and Jayce Schroeder. We had two compete individually. Those individuals were Kensi Emmons and Kayleigh Opstedahl. In the Livestock contest there were 800 individuals competing overall coming from 6 different states. The Broadus Livestock team placed 26th.

The Horse team was comprised of April Wood, Mia Mader, Becca Aye, and Alivia Landa. Maggie Mader competed as an individual. The Horse Evaluation team placed 9th overall and Alivia Landa placed 6th individually.

Overall it was a great showing by the FFA members and good practice. The NILE is one of the most challenging livestock contests our state offers.
