Chairman Lee Randall called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioner’s office, Powder River County Courthouse. Commissioner John Olson was present. Commissioner Donna Giacometto was absent from the meeting.

The board reviewed the DPHHS agreement. The board contacted the sanitarian for further discussion on the agreement, the board did not sign agreement at this time.

A burn ban was discussed and tabled until the next meeting date.

The cattle guard policy was not voted on and continuation of discussion will be on the agenda for the next meeting for the road supervisor to attend.

After hearing no further public comment, the board adjourned at noon and will reconvene Monday, October 24, 2022.

Monday, October 24, 2022

Chairman Lee Randall called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioner’s office, Powder River County Courthouse. Commissioners Donna Giacometto and John Olson were present.

Commissioners read and approved the consent agenda. The minutes of the previous meetings were read, approved, and ordered published.

Teel Mullanix, Road Supervisor, met with the board. Mullanix updated on mowing and blading. Amendment to cattle guard policy was discussed and discussion will be continued at the next meeting.

A burn ban was discussed and Commissioner John Olson motioned to end the open burn ban and Commissioner Donna Giacometto seconded the motion, motion carried.

Clerk & Recorder Cynde Jo Gatlin met with the board. Various issues were discussed.

Adam Johnson, EMS Director, met with the board. Johnson presented possible upgrades to the second ambulance. Upgrades would be lighting and safety net, totaling $2592.00, the board approved. Johnson is still looking for radio upgrades. Johnson updated on weekend events.

A local resident phoned commissioners to express concerns on Otter Creek Road.

Commissioner scheduled meeting for 1:00 pm was cancelled.

Jim Atchison, SEMDC, met with the board to request annual membership from Powder River County and submit an invoice.

Marty Drane, Maintenance Supervisor, met with the board for a general department update.

Tim Stradinger, TRECO, met with board to discuss stockyard electrical updates. Stradinger presented a form for commissioners to sign to allow county to take full ownership of removed electrical poles. The board signed.

After hearing no further public comment, the board adjourned at 5:00 pm and will reconvene Monday, October 31, 2022.
