Cressi Johnson, an advanced 500 level Yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance, is gearing up to teach yoga classes beginning mid-February and will offer the class at the time of day that works best for most participants. The following options are being considered. Register for the option that you are most likely to attend.

Option #1 - Rise and Shine Yoga Class will be scheduled at 6:30 am, two days each week. The Rise and Shine class will get your morning started with a clear mind and increased energy. Ease awake with gentle movement and power up to invigorating and energizing poses that set the intention for each day.

Option #2 - Evening Flow Yoga would be scheduled at 5:30 p.m., two days a week. End the workday on a calm and relaxed level with a wind down routine that allows participants to enjoy a calmer pace. The class will provide gentle movement to burn off excess energy, reverse occupational posture problems and reach a deeper state of relaxation to prepare for the evening.

Option #3 - Weekend Warrior Yoga Flow is scheduled for Saturday mornings. The Weekend Warrior Yoga Flow is a powerful flow yoga class to stretch, restore and mobilize the body for increased performance in everyday life. The poses are linked fluidly with breath and music to increase flexibility, balance, focus, breathing capacity, and strength. Participants will break a sweat and work all kinks.

Option #4 - Chair Yoga for Seniors is scheduled for 9 am or 4 pm two days a week. Chair yoga is for seniors and those with mobility impairments or injuries. Chair yoga is one of the best ways to enjoy the benefits of yoga in a safe and manageable way. It eliminates the need to stand up and balance or get up and down from the floor, but participants can still strengthen muscles and connect with their bodies. The benefits of chair yoga are loosening and stretching painful muscles, reducing chronic pain, decreasing stress, and improving circulation.

All levels of experience are welcome at each class, which Cressi is making available through a free will donation. Location of the classes will be determined once registration is complete. Classes will be offered based on registration which is due to the Powder River Extension Office by February 1st. For more information, contact the Extension Office at 436-2424 or Cressi at 406-876-5129.
