Emergency Medical Foundational Classes Starting Soon

Powder River EMS is excited to begin offering Emergency Medical Responder and Emergency Medical Technician courses to community members with an interest and desire to serve the community.

At present we have planned for multiple classes to assist community members interested in obtaining EMS level licenses through the state of Montana and the National Registry of EMTs. The current offerings are:

Basic Life Support CPR training: February 18th AM class 8pm – 12pm 6 spots available, PM class 1pm – 5pm 8 spots available. March 18th AM class 8pm – 12pm 8 spots available, PM class 1pm – 5pm 8 spots available and April 22nd AM class 8pm – 12pm 8 spots available, PM class 1pm – 5pm 8 spots available.

Emergency Medical Responder: Class 1 – March 25th through April 16th 2023 with time off for Easter 30 seats available 8am – 5pm, Class 2– April 29 – May 14th 2023 8am – 5pm. Classes will be held Saturdays and Sundays 9am – 6pm.

Emergency Medical Technician: September 5th through December 12th 2023 with 30 seats available. Classes with be held on Tuesday evenings from 6pm – 9pm and Saturdays from 8am – 6pm.

Those interested in attending the Emergency Medical Responder class will need to complete a student application located on the Powder River EMS County webpage and ensure they have a current and valid CPR card prior to enrollment. To ensure appropriate foundational training of responders those wishing to attend Emergency Medical Technician training will need to complete the Emergency Medical Responder course prior to starting the EMT course.

Current course costs: BLS CPR $50.00, Emergency Medical Responder $450.00, Emergency Medical Technician $1,200.
