Walking to Beat Cancer

Fighting cancer is important to the Steps for Charity teams. It’s so important that roughly one third of the teams chose the Broadus Cancer Fund charity to receive the benefit of their walking. The teams provided several reasons for supporting the Broadus Cancer Fund, including:

“We know people who have benefited from this great charity,” explained one group.

“Cancer Fund gives to our community when someone is in need of help for medical expenses, and we want to give back,” explained another, and,

“We chose the Cancer Fund, because they helped Paige during her time of need. Giving back to the Fund is not only the right thing to do but we know the Cancer Fund will help someone else, too.”

Teams walking for the Broadus Cancer Fund include:

The Road Runners, who are Jennifer Rosencranz, Tammy Livingston, Gavin Severeide and Hank Phillippi; Senior Citizen Steppers, who are Karen Gunther, Pat Smith, Tammy Jackman and Kathy Heidel; “Hey Girl Hey” Team includes Rhonda Rosencranz, Nancy Trent, Julie Stoddard-Terrill and Stephanie Roberts; The Healthcare Heroes, who are Christy Jeffress, Callie Williams, Paige Powell and Tavy Turnbough; and The Has-Beens, who include Elliott and Abbey Barnhart and Ross and Kylie Randall.

The Daffodil Fund Raiser currently underway is another great way to support the Broadus Cancer Fund. People can purchase either one or three bunches of daffodils. Contact Terri Bird, Carla Bowers, Kerry Gardner, Kitty Riggs, Tammy Schoenbeck, or Debbie Talcott to order.

With inclement weather forecast, the high school hallways are available from 7 am to 7:45 am, and 4 pm to 6 pm, Monday through Friday.
