Monday, March 20, 2023

Commissioner Chair Lee Randall called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioner’s office, Powder River County Courthouse. Commissioners Lori Fortner and John Olson were present.

Commissioners reviewed and approved the consent agenda.

The minutes of the March 13 and 16, 2023 commissioner proceedings were read, approved, and ordered published.

Teel Mullanix met with board for a general update. Gravel pits were also discussed. The board informed Mullanix that the county has been approved to install electronic speed limit signs on Highway 212 on both entrances of town. Mullanix will need to reach out to local MDT to work on the placement of the signs. Mullanix informed the board the new dozer is not capable of putting a 6-way blade on. Mullanix presented options to purchase of another dozer, no decision was made.

Resolution 2023-4, Resolution to Amend Survey Fees, John Olson motioned to approve, Lori Fortner seconded motion, motion carried.

Mark Jesttes met with board to conduct an exit interview from the Powder River Manor.

The board reviewed and signed the EMP Grant for FY24.

The cattle guard policy was reviewed and the board discussed the need for the addition of verbiage regarding the fee to change cattle guard location. Lori Fortner mo-tioned to include a fee of location change of a cattle guard cost as the same as installment cost in the cattle guard policy, John Olson seconded, motion carried.

Resolution 2023-5, Resolution to Establish EMS Event Standby Policy for Powder River Ambulance Service, John Olson motioned to approve, Lori Fortner seconded motion, motion carried.

The board spent the remainder of the day reading correspondence and taking care of various administrative duties.

Having completed all current business for the day, the board adjourned at 5:00 p.m. and will reconvene Monday, March 27, 2023.

Commissioner Chair Lee Randall called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioner’s office, Powder River County Courthouse. Commissioner John Olson was present and Lori Fortner was absent, attending MACRS.

Commissioners reviewed and approved the consent agenda.

Road tax maps for 2024 were reviewed and approved.

Sheriff Boman met with the board. Boman updated he will be attending academy beginning April and ending June 2023.

Jeff Noble, County Attorney, met with the board to visit about general updates and give an update on case load.

Marty Drane, Maintenance Supervisor, met with the board. Drane reported the courthouse bathroom is almost finished, inquired on the fuel system upgrade, and conducted a general update.

Having completed all current business for the day, the board adjourned at 12:00 p.m. and will reconvene Friday, March 31, 2023.
